I joined the Financial Services team shortly after completing my Masters Degree in Global Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Unsure of what I wanted to do with my degree, I was attracted to the team’s diverse service offerings.
I was excited by the opportunity to build a broad skill set without being too narrowly focused at the outset of my career. In my first two years I have developed many transferable skills while building subject matter expertise through being part of the delivery team on a number of Financial Services client projects.
Since joining the team I have worked on a wide range of projects for a diverse group of clients. I have worked closely with colleagues from across the Forensic & Litigation Consulting practice and reported directly to our client’s senior management. I was engaged on client projects from the moment I joined, supported by my colleagues and managers.
No two clients or projects are the same and each presents unique learning curves and challenges to solve. The diversity of work and experiences keeps me excited about the work we do.
Case study: S.166 Review
I recently worked on a project for a large European bank undergoing a Skilled Person Review (S.166) of their financial crime arrangements. As a project team, we supported the bank through the S.166 process and subsequently produced a comprehensive remediation programme. This project was particularly enjoyable as I had the opportunity work onsite across a number of the bank’s businesses and departments. With this wide exposure, I developed subject expertise while also developing transferable programme management skills. Working onsite afforded me the opportunity to understand the day-to-day activities of a large investment bank, while simultaneously developing and implementing a transformative change programme with senior stakeholders.
